Nike out of the Final Four

Davidson put up quite a fight against the Kansas Jayhawks, but with the miss of a last second shot by the Wildcats, NCAA Basketball history was made as all 4 No. 1 seeded teams advanced to the Final Four since the round of teams was expanded to 64 in 1985. Folks in Beaverton saw their last hope in Davidson to make the Final Four as all other Nike endorsed school had fallen in the Tourney. That’s right, Team Nike has been shut out of the Final Four. This is the first Final Four where not a single Nike shoe will be worn during the Final Four weekend since the field was expanded.
Fan apparel has long been big business for March Madness season, but this year fans could literally get decked out from head to toe. Adidas made team editions of the TS Pro Model available to the public for the start of the tourney and Jordan Brand will release the player editions of the Jordan 15SE for UNC and Georgetown April 12th - one week after the new Champ is crowned.

Sneaker Of the Week

This Weeks Sneaker Picked by Soul conn Member De'rek is the Air Jordan 11 .
The 11's were released in 1995 and is def a very popular Jordan. The Air Jordan XI heralded a triple comeback; Jordan’s return to the NBA, the return of designer Tinker Hatfield, and disappointingly, the return of the unpopular clear soles that yellowed with age.(I LOVED THE SOLE)..

While the design of this model was premium, the quality was sadly lacking and despite the release of low-top versions, the Jordan XI was not the most popular of all the Air Jordan shoes at first, But When the Jordan XI's were retroed in 2000-2001 they became the fastest selling, most popular Jordan retros of all.

"Defintly one of the dopest sneakers of all time. Or otherwise know as the come back jays. The combination of comfort and style has yet to be matched. The first successful shoe to introduce patent leather and upper mesh, along with the also sexy icey sole:). I remember waiting in line at like 6am on a school day to cop my second pair blk/red. The blk/wht concord's dropped earlier that year! (1995-1996) . I also remeber being the person to rock my joints to school early.what a feeling, it kinda adds to a young mans swagger.hahaha The whole day you walk different. I eventually had to just put my pair on ice because of all the fakes that were dropin and peoples ignorence to factory varients now this sneaker I held on to is worth up to 400$ and up.most def one of my favorite sneakers of all time." - De'rek

Local highschool students favorite sneaker

In this post we will be selecting local students to interview about there favorite sneakers...

this week we have selected a local Bethel high student that some of you could possibly know who goes by the name of Mattie! His favorite sneaker is the Nike Penny Foamposite
"My love for this shoe is incredible, Out of all the basketball releases I've seen growing up and had been admiring. I've chosen this one as my Grail. Have you ever seen any b-ball shoe with the whole package. Style, Comfort, and Technology all combined into one. This particular colorway caught my eye among the Foampostie collection (royal blue/black). The royal blue stands out as if waves were painted on and the black just seems to blend so well making this shoe Unique and ahead of its time. Nike made the greatest basketball shoe ever to grace the hardwood floors of America." Mattie

Sneaker of the week

Pk's Sneaker of the week is.... * DRUM ROLL PLEASE*

The Retro Nike Air Raid

The Air Raid was designed by Tinker Hatfield. The Double strap system looked as if it was just for looks but it actually kept the foot very secure for basketball . The release of this sneaker coincided with Spike lee's Movie "Malcolm X" , the shoes X look lead many people to associate the two. The Air raid was first released in 1992 it was initially called the Air Jack before it hit the production line. The sneaker was re-released in 2003 and again in 2008, the sneaker in the picture can be purchased at select Nike accounts and at your local DTLR.

" I fucked with the shoe because my uncle had them back in 1993 when i was growing up and i remember him getting two pairs and busting the other pair out in late 1999 ill never forget because he let me rock them to school i ended up just balling in them and fucking them up i wish i knew what had, the color way is crazy ill, the straps the sole everything about this shoe speaks to me . the sneakers bulky white sole is impossible to not look at especially on the black sneaker my bond with this shoe is like an unknown language its really something i think only i can understand..." - Pk
